Police Reports is a sampling of incidents responded to by the Aurora Police Department. It is not intended to be all inclusive.
Auto theft: A Chadwick Drive resident reported Nov. 25 that a vehicle was stolen from his garage overnight. Police said the man door to the garage was unlocked and the keys were in the vehicle. No value was given.
Theft from vehicle: Another Chadwick Drive man reported Nov. 26 that someone entered his garage and took $52 from his vehicles. Police said there was no suspect at the time.
Merchandise theft: An Akron male juvenile was charged with receiving stolen property Nov. 27 at a South Chillicothe Road retailer after being found with $397 worth of merchandise in his possession without any receipts to prove he bought them. He was released to the custody of his cousin.
Neglect: A woman was charged with four counts of child endangering Nov. 25 at a South Chillicothe Road retail center after police said she left young children in a locked car in 35-degree weather while she was shopping. She was taken to the Portage County Jail and the children were turned over to their father.
Grill incident: A Winchester Circle woman reported Nov. 25 that she thought someone might have attempted to steal her grill since it was found at the bottom of stairs to her deck. Police determined the grill blew off the deck.
TVs stolen: An employee at a Shawnee Trail inn reported Nov. 29 that seven television sets were stolen. They were purchased for remodeling of rooms and were in storage. Value was about $2,303.
Suspicious noise: Police were called to a business on East Garfield Road at 3 a.m. after someone reported that she heard screams coming from the building. Police determined the noise came from a video that was playing over and over on a screen in the building.
DUI citation: An Aurora man was cited Nov. 27 at 2:30 a.m. for driving under the influence and not driving in marked lanes after an officer stopped him on Countrywood Trail. Police said he had a blood alcohol content of .105. He was released on bond.
Suspended license: A Kent man stopped for having expired license plates Nov. 28 at 9:30 a.m. was cited for driving under suspension and expired plates. His vehicle was ordered off the road.
Collision: A Twinsburg woman was cited Nov. 29 at 3:30 p.m. for merging from the left lane into the right lane on North Aurora Road, then striking the front end of a car driven by an Aurora woman. No injuries were reported.
Improper backing: A Streetsboro man was cited for improper backing Nov. 24 at 10 p.m. after police said he backed out of a driveway on South Chillicothe Road and struck a passing Willoughby Hills man's vehicle. No injuries were reported.
Rear-end crash: A Chagrin Falls woman was cited Nov. 24 at 1:40 p.m. for assured clear distance after police said she struck a Garretttsville man's vehicle from behind on West Garfield Road at Route 43. The drivers were treated at the scene by Aurora paramedics.
