UM luncheon set

A luncheon for women at Aurora United Methodist Church will take place Nov. 6 at Station 43. Tuesday morning women meet each week at 10 a.m.

The praise team gathers Wednesdays at 7 p.m. to prepare for Sunday services, and UM 201 meets Thursdays at 7 p.m. to explore what United Methodists believe about the world around them and how that shapes their lives.

A new member class begins Nov. 6 after the morning service. Other dates are Nov. 13 and 20.

On Nov. 13, the youth group will go to Wadsworth Middle School to help pack meals for Stop Hunger Now. Meals will be packed from 2 to 4:30 p.m. and the day will end with a concert by Rapture Ruckus.

The annual Charge Conference will be Nov. 13 at 1:30 p.m. at Portage Faith UMC. Aurora food pantry collection items for November are stuffing, cranberry sauce, corn and turkey gravy.

Youth confab set

The 2016 Youngstown Diocese youth convention for young members of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church will be Nov. 6 from 12:30 to 7 p.m. at St. Michael the Archangel in Canton. Carpooling is available.

A confirmation catechetical session for candidates and a parent will be Nov. 6 at 11:30 a.m. in the parish center. Pizza will be provided and each family should take either a dessert, beverages, chips or veggies to share. Afterward, teams will rake leaves for area residents who need help.

Women will gather Nov. 2, 9 and 30 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the parish hall to work on quilts or knit/crochet blankets for the homeless. Bring a bag lunch if you plan to stay for the day. For details, call Karen at 216-513-6444.

Dinner and doctrine is Nov. 15 at 6 p.m. at the Overlook at Twin Lakes with guest speaker Whitney Daly, director of campus ministry at Gilmore Academy. Reservations are due by Nov. 6 to Sister Lu Haidnick or Mac Clapp.

Nonparishable food items are needed this weekend, along with paper and soap products. Place them in the rear of the church. Clothing and other household items can be taken to Volunteers of America.

A moms night out will be Nov. 16 at 7 p.m. at the Six Horse Tavern at the Aurora Inn. For details, contact Shannon at 440-679-1325 or slfcooch@hotmail.com.
